Lifting platform which is supported on a base via a linkage vertically adjustable by means of a drive and symmetrical relative to a vertical plane, characterised in that two toggle-lever pairs (16, 18, 16', 18'; 36, 38, 36', 38') are arranged at least on one side under the platform (12) at the same distance from one another, having two lever arms (e.g. 16, 18) whose ends on one side are connected at a fulcrum point (20; 30), while the opposite ends are fastened to the platform (12) and the base (14) respectively, in that a rotary drive (24; 34) is provided which in each case has a connection (22; 32), variable in length during the rotation of the rotary drive, to the fulcrum points (20, 30) of the toggle-lever pairs (16, 18, 36, 38) in each case lying opposite one another relative to the vertical plane. <IMAGE>
