Sensor for determining the actual and apparent perpendicular direction

The sensor for determining the actual perpendicular direction and the apparent perpendicular direction which is influenced by accelerations, exhibits an element indicating the perpendicular direction. A further element (1) indicating the perpendicular direction is provided with a damping device (2, 3), the time constant of which is much greater than the periods in which the acceleration has the same sign and values different from zero. The element (1) indicating the perpendicular direction can be filled with a liquid (4). Changes in the liquid level (5, 6) due to changes in the actual perpendicular direction can be detected via a matrix CCD camera (9) and evaluated. <IMAGE>
