PURPOSE:To use an idle user's program area as a working area by permitting a CPU to automatically allocating an area as is found excessive to the idle area of the user's program area if a total of working areas in a memory that a user declares to use exceeds the size of a data area. CONSTITUTION:A file F5 or F9 is secured as a working area in the data area D, and a remaining idle area ED is minimal accordingly. The user's program part UP and other idle areas EP remain in large amounts in the program area P. It is assumed that a file instruction F is issued and securing a file F10 as a working area for data denoted by symbol 5 is requested. In that case, the CPU automatically allocates some of the idle area EP as the file F10 (the working area of the data 5) because the idle area EP has many unused spaces.
