PURPOSE:To permit only good-quality sand in the ground to be collected by a method in which a dredging tower is attached in a vertically movable manner to the hull, and a winch to lift up the dredging tower an a winch to forcibly penetrate the dredging tower driving the tower are provided. CONSTITUTION:A winch 18 to lift up a dredging tower is provided on the deck 13 and a dredging tower 14 is vertically moved through a rope 22. A winch 23 to forcibly penetrate the dredging tower is also provided and the tower 14 is forcibly lowered by winding up a rope 27 while sending out the rope 22. In the operation of dredging sand, the tower 14 and a hose cradle 43 are lowered, and the dredger 15 is penetrated into the seabed ground by the winch 23 as needed. Only good-quality sand can thus be collected from the ground by leaving unnecessary soil even when there is much unnecessary soil in the upper layer of the seabed.
