Method for transmitting digitised stereophonic audio signals

In the transmission of digitised stereophonic audio signals via noisy broadcast channels, transmission errors are detected, as a rule, at the receiving end and, if necessary, corrected or masked. In order to ensure an intelligibility of the audio signals even in the case of interference which can be neither corrected nor masked, it is proposed that the disturbed signal section is replaced by an undisturbed signal section of the same time from another channel of the aggregate stereophonic signal.
