PURPOSE:To provide an agent for exterminating terminate, containing a non-alcoholic organic solvent, an active substance for controlling termite and a hydrophilic urethane resin, capable of keeping the termite-controlling activity over a long period and useful for the prevention and control of termite damaging the woody part of a house. CONSTITUTION:The objective termite exterminating agent contains a nonalcoholic organic solvent such as methyl ethyl ketone, an active substance for controlling termite e.g. chloropyrifos and a hydrophilic urethane resin such as HICEL OH-1A (product of Toho Chemical Ind. Co.; the solid content of the resin in the hardened composition is about 85%). The agent is diluted with water to an extent to give a dispersion containing 0.05-5wt% termite-controlling active substance and 2-20wt% hydrophilic urethane resin in terms of solid component and is sprayed to soil or the agent is sprayed to soil under dilution with water. Termite is controlled by the formed cured resin layer uniformly containing the termite-controlling active substance. It exhibits high insecticidal ratio to termite in the ground and inhibits the creeping out of the termite through the hardened soil layer on the ground. It also has a moisture-proofing effect on a house by its moisture-shielding capability.
