PURPOSE:To smooth the complicated mode switching of a keyboard by providing a foot switch switches modes. CONSTITUTION:The foot switch 9 concurrently takes the switching circuit out of a switching key 5 which switches a keyboard 1 to a HIRAGANA (Japanese syllabary) input mode and the switching circuit out of a switching key 6 which switches the keyboard 1 to a KATAKANA (square form of Japanese syllabary) input mode. The keyboard 1 is switched to the KATAKANA input mode by stepping on the foot switch 9 and to the HIRAGANA input mode by releasing it. As KANJI (Chinese character) and HIRAGANA are used more than KATAKANA in Japanese document, the keyboard 1 is ordinally kept in the HIRAGANA mode without stepping on the foot switch 9. HIRAGANA is inputted and it is converted to KANJI by switching a conversion 8 in case of need. Only when KATAKANA is inputted, the keyboard 1 is switched to the KATAKANA mode by stepping on the foot switch 9.
