<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a driving element from being damaged by forming driving element for each picture image on one of the two transparent substrates confronted to each other, and treating only the orientation film having no driving element formed thereon by rubbing. CONSTITUTION:Liquid crystals 4 are sealed in a cell formed by disposing two orientation films to a liquid crystals element, wherein said two transparent substrates are provided with electromagnetic films 2, 2' and orientation films 3, 3' on one surface of each substrate 1, 1' and polarizing plates 5, 5' are formed on another surface with the orientation film 3, 3' arranged to the inside confronting to each other. The liquid crystal element is one formed as described above being active matrix type liquid crystal element having driving element for each picture element on one of the substrates, wherein only the orientation film on the substrate having no driving element formed thereon is treated by rubbing. Glass plate, etc. is used for the transparent substrate, and tin oxide/indium oxide is used for the counter electrode and display electrode. Polyamide, polyimide, etc. is used for the orientation film; and ferroelectric liquid crystal is used for the liquid crystal. Since the orientation film on the substrate having driving element formed thereon is not treated by rubbing, the driving element is prevented from damage. Accordingly, normal driving becomes possible.</p> |
