PURPOSE:To form heat generators at high density and to prevent the abrasion thereof, by forming a large number of grooves to a head substrate made of an electric insulating material and embedding the heat generators composed of an electric resistant material in said grooves. CONSTITUTION:A head substrate 1 is composed of an electric insulating material excellent in abrasion resistance such as alumina or glass and has a curved surface or is formed into a semicylindrical shape and a large number of grooves 3a, 3b, 3c... in the direction right-angled to the axial direction of the substrate are arranged to the part of the curved surface 3 in the axial direction. Heat generators 4a, 4b, 4c... composed of an electric resistant material are embedded in the grooves 3a, 3b, 3c.... Electrodes 5a, 5b, 5c... are provided to one side surface of the head substrate 1 and a common electrode 6 is provided to the other side surface thereof. Therefore, the electrodes 5a, 5b, 5c... and the common electrode 6 apply a current to the heat generators 4a, 4b, 4c... on the basis of the electric signals from terminals 7a, 7b, 7c... and a common terminal 8 to generate heat and a thermal medium is heated to make it possible to perform recording. |
