The drier is suitable for the drying of laundry, paper, fruit, film negatives and the like. The heating takes place by means of thermal energy, for example with warm water from a heating circuit. In the drying of laundry, the garments to be dried are suspended in a drying space and are dried by drying air previously conducted via ribbed heating bodies through which warm water flows. The system contains no moved parts, with the exception of the waste-air blower. A careful treatment of the material to be dried is thereby achieved. Furthermore, the energy costs are reduced to less than 1/3, with the result that particularly economic operation is to be expected. <IMAGE>
