A zeolite used as a detergent builder has a mean dia. of primary particles of 0.1-10 microns, a cation exchange capacity more than 100mg CaCO3 per g. of anhydrous prod., and a rate constant (RS) w.r.t. surface area of zeolite per l. of solution greater than 0.15. The zeolite has an improved detergent effect w.r.t. lower levels of incrustation of salts on fabrics.
