PURPOSE:To enable correction of an ink discharge curve by providing more than two divided electrodes on the periphery of an air discharge outlet and applying different voltages in accordance with an ink discharge curve. CONSTITUTION:Divided electrodes such as electrodes 121, 122 and 123 totaling three and provided on the periphery of an air discharge outlet 1, and their individual intervals are such wide apart that no electric discharge occurs. The electrodes 121, 122 and 123 are independent and are so designed that positive bias voltages VA, VB, VC are applied at DC. An image signal voltage VD is applied to the rear of the ink discharge outlet under a negative voltage. When VA, VB and VC are set to the same value, the voltages VB, VC are increased compared to VA if an ink discharge is bent into an electrode 121 direction. Consequently, an attraction force to the electrode 122, 123 direction increases, thus correcting the discharge curve. In this manner, the discharge curves in any directions can be corrected by adjustment of the voltages VA, VB, VC. |
