A take-off apparatus provided with a rotationally symmetrical or elliptical housing, which is subdivided by a substantially flat screen 11 into a circulation chamber 16 and an accepts take-off chamber 5, is connected via a horizontal or steadily descending line to a pulper 1 above half the vessel height thereof or half the height of its circulation section. A take-off line 14 leads from the circulation chamber to a coarse-sorting implement, and a take-off line for heavy dirt is connected to the lower part, preferably to the lower end of the circulation chamber 16, and preferably ends at the heavy dirt chamber 7 of the pulper 1. In this way, preferably light impurities and preferably floating impurities can be removed to a sufficient extent from the pulper. By returning the heavy dirt line 13 to the heavy dirt chamber 7 of the pulper, a further heavy dirt lock can be dispensed with. <IMAGE>
