In a device for the control of a brake system with slip control (Fig. 1), in which the pedal force (F), power assisted by a pneumatic booster (1), is transmitted to a master cylinder (10) and from this by way of a plurality of pressure medium lines (24, 25), which can be shut off independently of one another, to the wheel brake cylinders, and in which the wheel rotation behaviour and the vehicle speed or a variable corresponding to the vehicle speed is measured, which variable is logically processed by means of the signals obtained and analysed in order to generate control signals by means of which in a control instance, that is when a tendency to slip or lock is detected, the brake pressure on the individual wheels or groups of wheels is reduced, kept constant or increased as a function of the wheel rotation behaviour, a plurality of solenoid-operated check valves (19) is arranged on the movable wall (2) of the pneumatic booster (1), which valves permit an equalisation of pressure between the working chambers (3, 4), the check valves (19) being actuatable individually or in groups from the central electronics unit (18) by way of cables (44). <IMAGE>
