PURPOSE:To attain multi-function by providing a control section selecting an output of a prescribed processing means based on an instruction of a switch means in an on-vehicle radio receiver or television receiver and setting a tuner section into an instructed operating section so as to use a tuner for multi-purpose applications. CONSTITUTION:Three kinds of the usages such as trace of same program, investigation of the reception state of other stations and diversity, are assigned to the tuner section 6A. In case of the trace of same program, a microcomputer 7 controls a tuner switching circuit 8 to allow the circuit 8 to select the reception signal of the tuner section 6A and to give the reception signal to a monitor 9. Then the microcomputer 7 controls a frequency control circuit 4A to set the oscillated frequency of a local oscillator 3A to a frequency in response to the channel of user designation. In case of incestigating the reception state of other stations, the tuner section 6A is turned to the channel designated by the user and its broadcast program is displayed on a monitor 9.
