The invention relates to a device (1) for boiling out wax from flasks (15), consisting of a housing (3), with a treatment space (2) and a spray-nozzle arrangement (12), arranged therein, for hot treatment liquid, of a feed line (16) opening into the treatment space and having a cut-off valve (17), of a delivery line (21) which leads from the lower region of the treatment space (2) to the spray-nozzle arrangement (12) and has a pump (18), of a heater (31) for heating the treatment liquid in the treatment space, of a temperature sensor (36) for determining the temperature or limiting a first treatment temperature of the treatment liquid at which the wax is capable of being boiled out, and of an electric control device. The intention is to make it possible to use the apparatus (1) sooner after it is switched on, for which purpose at least one level detection element (26) is provided for detecting the liquid level of the quantity for use in the treatment space (2) between a minimum liquid level (25) and a maximum liquid level (13) or the minimum and maximum liquid level (25, 13), and for which reason, when heating the quantity for use above the minimum liquid level (13), the control device controls the feed quantity of treatment liquid in the feed line (16) in such a way that the temperature of the treatment fluid does not fall below the treatment temperature or below a second, lower treatment temperature. <IMAGE>
