PURPOSE:To drive efficiently and facilitate the restarting of the title motor, by selecting the thickness of a slide member, contacted with an oscillating body, so as to have a specified thickness. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic motor is constituted of a piezo-electric body 1a a metallic oscillating body 2, contacted with and fixed to the surface of the piezo-electric body 1, a moving body 3 and a slide member 4, consisting of a resin fixed to the moving body 3. The oscillating body 2 is pressed against and contacted to the slide member 4. In this case, the slide member 4 is formed in the manner that the thickness thereof is to be 500mum or less. According to this method, the trough of the amplitude of the oscillating body 2 will not be contacted even when a pressing and contacting force between the slide member 4 and the oscillating member 2 is increased. As a result, a driving force in a direction reverse to the direction of a traveling wave of the oscillating body 2 may be transmitted to the moving body 3 efficiently. |
