PURPOSE:To simplify construction without degrading display performance and to decrease the number of parts by controlling a green image with a sheet of liquid crystal panel and controlling a blue image and red image with a sheet of the liquid crystal panel and color control element. CONSTITUTION:This display device is constituted of a light source 1, a dichroic mirror 2 for color sepn., mirrors 3 and 4, the liquid crystal panel 6 for green control, the liquid crystal panel 5 for blue and red control, the color control element 7, a dichroic mirror 8 for color synthesis and a lens 9. Light from the light source 1 is subjected to the reflection of the green light and the transmission of the red light and blue light by the dichroic mirror 2. The green light is reflected by the mirror 4 and the image information is added thereto by the liquid crystal panel 6. The red light and blue light are reflected by the mirror 3 and the image information of the red and blue colors are added thereto by the liquid crystal panel 5 and the color control element 7. The green image information and the red and blue image information are synthesized by the dichroic mirror 8 and are projected by the lens 9. The color control element can be changed over to the red and blue colors and can be successively changed over to a cross stripe shape. The number of parts is thereby greatly reduced. |
