PURPOSE:To improve volume efficiency during high rotation, by a method wherein two inlet ducts for introducing air containing an element, and a valve opened when the oil pressure of engine oil exceeds a given value is mounted to the other duct. CONSTITUTION:In an air purifying device 1 containing a casing 3 incorporating an element 2, two inlet ducts 3a and 3b are mounted to the peripheral wall of the casing 3. A valve 4 is mounted to the one duct 3b, and is opened through a diaphragm 6 by means of a negative pressure introduced in a vacuum chamber 5a of a drive device 5 through a passage 9. Introduction a negative pressure to passage 9 is controlled by means of a control device 10, and the control device 10 moves upward a valve device 19 against a spring 16 when the oil pressure of engine oil is increased along with an increase in the number of revolutions of the engine. The upward movement of the valve device closes on opening 18a of a vacuum passage 18, meanwhile, with an open air opening 14a opened, an atmospheric pressure is introduced in a vacuum chamber 5a to open the valve 4.
