PURPOSE:To facilitate the protection of a brush in keeping the brush unit in a motor fan suited for a vacuum cleaner by forming a projection fitted in a recess of the brush on a special form pipe in which the carbon brush pressed against a commutator is fitted. CONSTITUTION:In a motor fan, current is supplied to a rotor 21 by pressing a carbon brush 34 in a brush unit 25 against a commutator 32 fixed to the counterload side of a shaft 22 of the rotor 21. Then, the carbon brush 34 is formed on one side surface with a recess 37, while a stopper 39 formed with a projection 38 fitted in the recess 37 is deformably provided on one surface of a special form pipe 33 receiving the carbon brush 34 of brush unit 25. In keeping the brush, it is received and protected in the special form pipe 33 through the engagement of projection 38 with recess 37, and after assemblage, a releasing portion 40 integral with the stopper 39 in pressed with a pin or the like to release the engagement so that the brush 34 is pressed against the commutator 32 by a spring 35.
