PURPOSE:To enhance the sound suppressing effect against aircraft noise or the like, by not aligning an air inlet with an air outlet in an air passage of a venting sound absorber to be installed in an air duct for a house or the like, and enlarging a space of an intermediate air passage portion between the air inlet and the air outlet. CONSTITUTION:A porous molding 1 such as a synthetic resin foam mat has a shape and a size suitable for installation to a wall of a house or the like, and it is formed with an air passage 2 transversely passing therethrough. The air passage 2 has an inlet portion 2a forming an air inlet 3 and an outlet portion 2b forming an air outlet 4. The inlet portion 2a is not aligned with the outlet portion 2b. For example, the former is formed below the latter. Further, the air passage 2 has an intermediate enlarged passage portion 2c defined between the inlet portion 2a and the outlet portion 2b. With this arrangement, the air inside the house is vented from the air inlet 3 through the air passage 2 and the air outlet 4 to the outside. On the other hand, aircraft noise or the like outside the house is suppressed by interference and sound absorption in the intermediate enlarged passage portion 2c.
