摘要

PURPOSE:To detect a time-out in the respective seek operations of plural disk drives by one timer by erasing information corresponding to a peripheral device when a prescribed operation is completed before a time-out signal is outputted. CONSTITUTION:A means for activating the timer by setting a flag and resetting the set flag when the week operation is completed during the operation of the tier, a means for resetting the timer when any flag is not set and a means for setting the corresponding flag to a designating signal and reactivating the timer after the timer is reset when the designating signal from other disk drive is generated during the operation of the timer and a means for generating the time-out signal when the corresponding flag is not reset even if the timer operation is completed are provided. Thereby the seek processing time-outs of the plural disk drives can be easily detected by one timer.
