PURPOSE:To obtain a driver for a printer or the like having a small number of component parts and being compact and versatile, by providing a belt fitted to first, second and third pulleys, and an idle pulley for exerting a predatermined tension on the belt. CONSTITUTION:A first pulley 11a is coupled directly to a shaft of a platen 1, and is rotated in a body with the platen 1. A second pulley 7a is coupled directly to a paper-feeding roller 7, while a third pulley 8a is coupled directly to a paper-discharging roller 8. A timing belt 50 is fitted to each of the pulleys, and an idle pulley 51 is provided for exerting a predetermined tension on the belt 50. Each of the pulleys is provided, at an outer peripheral part thereof, with recessed and projected parts at a fixed pitch for engagement with recessed and projected parts of the belt 50, Whereby the rotation of the platen 1 is transmitted to the rollers 7, 8 without slippage. Even when a shaft of the roller 7 or the like is moved, a sag of the belt is eliminated by the idle pulley 51, and the belt and the pulleys are constantly engaged with each other, so that motive power can be transmitted without requiring extra component parts or lowering reliability. |
