PURPOSE:To make a cylinder device compact and improve the travel accuracy of a driven body by internally mounting a stroke adjusting device for a cylinder rod in a cylinder casing. CONSTITUTION:A stopper piston 23 with a communicating hole 22 is internally mounted inside a cylinder rod 19, and is threadedly engaged with the tip of a screw rod 25 supported by a head cover 17, and forms a stroke adjusting device together with the screw rod 25. Since the provision of a separate positioning device becomes thereby unnecessary, a cylinder device becomes wholly compact. In addition to that, the stop position of the rod 19 can be directly adjusted, and the travel accuracy of a driven body is therefore certainly improved.
