<p>PURPOSE:To lock a steering wheel central part with a simple mechanism, by installing a fixed cylindrical member on an outer circumferential part concentrically with a steering shaft, while installing a rotary member in a steering wheel part free of rotation around the cylindrical member, and winding a belt round between both members. CONSTITUTION:A steering shaft 4 is rotatably supported on a steering column 2 in a column cover 1 via a bearing 3, and rotation of a steering wheel 5 is transmitted to the shaft 4 by a boss 5a of the steering wheel. A fixed cylindrical member 7 is installed on an outer circumferential part concentrically with the steering shaft 4, and a belt 10 is wound round between the shaft 4 and the rotary member 12 installed in the steering wheel boss 5a. A fixed pad 13 is supported on a steering wheel central part via a ring member 9 of the same form with the fixed cylindrical member, and a part of the belt 10 is wound round. According to this method, the central part is clamped by a simple mechanism without using a planetary gear mechanism or the like.</p> |
