PURPOSE:To produce a conductor roll for electroplating having superior corrosion and wear resistances by coating the surface of a roll with a cermet layer consisting of electrically conductive ceramics and a corrosion resistant alloy in a specified ratio. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the roll is coated by thermal spraying with a cermet layer consisting of 15-80vol% electrically conductive ceramics and the balance corrosion resistant alloy. ZrN, etc. may be used as the electrically conductive ceramics and an Ni-Cr-Al-Y alloy, etc. as the corrosion resistant alloy. Thus, a conductor roll having improved corrosion and wear resistances is obtd. and the service life is prolonged.
