PURPOSE:To prevent an accident due to contact from occurring and to improve reliability for information recording, by storing an external magnetic field generating means separately from a position required for the information recording before a magneto-optical disk is delivered, and moving it to the position required for the information recording after the delivery of the magneto-optical disk by a moving means. CONSTITUTION:When the magneto-optical disk 4 is placed on a placing board 6, an electromagnet 20 is arranged on the upward side of the placing board 6 separated far away the position where an external magnetic field having intensity required for the recording of information on the recording plane of the magneto-optical disk 4 is generated, and is hung down with a moving rack 22. When the magneto-optical disk 4 is delivered, a loading mechanism is operated, and the placing board 6 is lowered gradually, and at the position where it is abutted with a position sensor 30, the magneto-optical disk 4 is shifted to a turntable 10, and is driven rotatably by the torque of a spindle motor 8. And a pinion gear 26 is rotated, the electromagnet 20 is moved to the position where the external magnetic field having satisfactory intensity required for the recording of the information on the recording plane of the magneto- optical disk 4 is supplied. In such way, it is possible to evade danger to generate the accident due to the contact completely, and to improve operability and the reliability.
