PURPOSE:To provide a portable fan preferred for use by housing a thin DC motor and battery in series on the same axis in an elongated tubular knob and mounting a large diameter axial type fan on the motor shaft. CONSTITUTION:To the rear end of a synthetic resin knob 1 formed into an elongated tubular shape for example is mounted removably threadingly a lid 2 made of synthetic resin to open and close an opening of the knob 1. An elongated DC motor 3 and battery 4 are arranged in series on the same axis in the knob 1, and an axial fan 12 having the diameter larger than the outline of knob 1 is mounted on a rotary shaft 5 of motor 3 disposed on the front side. And fan covers 13, 14 are provided in front of the knob 1 to surround the fan 12, and the fan cover 13 is formed integral with the knob 1 while the fan cover 14 is removably mounted on the front face of fan cover 13 in an annular mounting portion 14d having an U-shaped section.
