PURPOSE:To make a refresh cycle long by controlling the cycle of refresh action by means of plural scanning control signals of different timings supplied from a scanning means. CONSTITUTION:A MOS switch 57 is turned on by an 02-1, then a line 68 is charged up to a potential E1 to turn on MOS switches 41, 42. Following the above, a voltage VRC is impressed to horizontal lines 10, 15, and charges in cells 9, 37, etc., connected to the lines 10, 15 are made flow to the ground. This refresh state continues until the time when 02-3 is outputted 2H-time later. If the 02-3 is outputted, a MOS switch 50 is turned on to start the refresh of the sensor cells of the horizontal lines and to turn on a MOS switch 61. This causes a line 68 to discharge its potential, so that the MOS switches 41, 42 are turned off. In such a way, the refresh cycle can be markedly extended.
