PURPOSE:To obtain superior photosensitive characteristics by using Se contg. a specified amt. of oxygen. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive body uses Se contg. <=1.0ppm oxygen. Se contg. such a small amt. of oxygen is obtained, e.g. by operating purification of Se from a reducing process to a shotting step in an inert gas contg. no oxygen, or placing Se in vacuum in a melting stage and the following processes and vacuum evaporating Se. The photosensitive body having such Se vapor-deposited to a substrate is low n increase of residual potential, and scarcely causes back- ground staining and a residual image, and it is used for an image pickup tube, etc. |
