PURPOSE:To discriminate a specific body, by comparing light and shade distribution states of the flashing of a light emitter having a light emitting axis parallel to the light receiving axis of the optical system of an image sensor and emitting light in an ON/OFF state. CONSTITUTION:For example, a specific body is assumed to be a reflecting body. The light and shade distribution obtained when a light emitter 5 irradiates the visual field of an optical system 2 along the light emitting axis thereof parallel to the light receiving axis of the optical system 2 and that obtained when the light emitter 5 does not irradiate the optical system 2 are received by a sensor (CCD row) 8 and binarized to be detected and compared by a built-in control circuit part 16. The brightness of the light emitter 5 is weak under the sunlight but only the specific body reflects the light emitted from the light emitter 5 and the brightness thereof changes between at the time of light emission and at the time of light non-emission. Therefore, the specific body present at a part located in an unchanged environment can be easily discriminated.
