<p>PURPOSE:To rotate a digital binary picture in a high speed by providing a memory which has functions to designate a specific picture element of an inputted picture to store plural picture elements and to read and write them in a prescribed arrangement. CONSTITUTION:An original picture is inputted from a picture input device 103 and is stored in a picture memory 105. A processing part 101 executes a rotating program stored in a program memory 102, and the converted picture is stored in an area different from the area, where the original picture is stored, in the picture memory 105. In the rotation conversion, picture element coordinates of the original picture and the rotated picture are generated in accordance with simple rules of comparison of integers and increase of integers, and the value at the nearest lattice point on the original picture is allowed to represent values of interpolating points in case of interpolation, and a set of picture elements which are stored in continuous areas and are continuous even after rotation is transferred simultaneously within the range of the width of a data bus. Finally, conversion data is written from the memory 105 onto a picture output device 104. Thus, high-speed rotation is made easy.</p> |
