PURPOSE:To distribute platinum uniformly on a carrier without segregating the same in the carrier and to improve the performance of a catalyst by depositing a platinum-contg. component on the carrier by using a solvent, then removing said solvent by a freeze-drying method. CONSTITUTION:After the platinum-contg. component (e.g., tetraammineplatinum chloride) is deposited on the carrier (e.g., synthetic L type zeolite) by using the solvent (e.g., water), the solvent is removed by the freeze-drying method. As a result, the platinum is uniformly distributed in the carrier without being segregated therein and the flocculation resistance and dispersibility of the platinum are improved. The platinum deposited catalyst which exhibits excellent catalyst characteristics such as remarkably high activity and long life when used for reaction such as aromatization reaction of a hydrocarbon oil is produced. |
