PURPOSE:To obtain a skin drug for external use, containing pisiferic acid or analog thereof contained in Chamaecyparis pisifera Endl. var. plumosa Beissn., Chamaecyparis pisifera Endl., etc., and capable of exhibiting antimicrobial activity against causative germs, e.g., acne, dandruff, itching etc. CONSTITUTION:A skin drug for external use containing at least one selected from pisiferic acid (salt), O-methylpisiferic acid (salt), methyl pisiferate, pisiferal and pisiferol expressed by the formulas (X is H, alkali metal, arginine, etc.). The pisiferic acid or analog thereof is obtained by extracting leaves or twigs of HINOKI (Chamaecyparis obtusa Endl.), Chamaecyparis pisifera Endl. Chamaecyparis pisifera Endl. var. plumosa Beissn., etc., with a solvent, e.g. ethanol, propylene glycol, water, hexane, etc., and 0.1-3wt% thereof is blended in the skin drug for external use. The drug is used in the form of medicines, quasi-drugs, cosmetics, toiletry products, etc., and effective in suppressing acne, dandruff, itching, etc. |
