PURPOSE:To make it possible to dress a grinding wheel allowing a single point diamond to keep definite dressing ability and giving it a definite period of life by indexably securing a tool body to a holder allowing each crystal orientation of a polyhedron single point diamond to coincide with the direction of a grinding wheel rotation. CONSTITUTION:Chamfered section 6 are provided to the bolting position on the outer periphery of the shank of a tool body 1 in the same phase as the crystal orientation of a diamond 2. In addition such markings 7 as graduations or the like is marked on the end face opposite to the anchoring side of the diamond 2 of the tool body 1 in the same phase as that of the crystal orientation of the diamond 2, and a holder 3 is marked a match mark 8 for a indexing position. The marks 7 coinciding with the chamfered sections 6 is mated with the match mark 8 in order, and the chamfered sections 6 are pressured by a bolt 4 to indexically position the tool body 1 to a holder 3 and fix it. And the crystal orientations A1-A4 of the single point diamond 2 are made to coincide with the direction of a rotation of a grinding wheel 5 to perform dressing thereto with the single point diamond 2 allowing the diamond to keep definite dressing ability and giving it a definite period of life.
