PURPOSE:To improve cutting efficiency by incorporating in a holder main body a shock vibrating mechanism applying one or both of axial and rotary shock vibrations to a cutting tool fitting member. CONSTITUTION:When a rotary shaft 17 and a reciprocating piece 18 are rotated together, projections 23 of the reciprocating piece 18 inserted into recesses between projections 22 of a fitting member 2 are moved slightly along the recesses then hit the projections 22 and apply rotary shocks to a tool 4 via the member 2. Then, the projections 23 are retreated while riding on slant faces of the projections 22 and compressing a spring 19, and the projections 23 fully ride on the slant faces and ride over the projections 22. Then, the projections 23 fall between the projections 22 by the restoring force of the spring 19, thus axial shocks are applied to the member 2 and tool 4. Accordingly, rotary and axial shock vibrations are applied to the tool 4 via the member 2 by the rotation of the reciprocating piece 18 with respect to the member 2, and the cutting efficiency and cutting accuracy are improved. |
