PURPOSE:To curtail the working manhour, and to improve the mass-productivity by forming a stock by casting, and applying press working to at least a part of the stock. CONSTITUTION:In case of making a side block from carbon steel, and in case of making it from an Al alloy, casting is executed by a lost wax method, and a die-casting, respectively, and a stock 7b' for the side block is obtained. The stock 7b' has an annular groove forming part 23' corresponding to an annular groove and a sliding groove forming part 27a' corresponding to a sliding groove. In this state, sizing is executed by a first mold 61 having a projecting part of the same dimension as that of the annular groove and the sliding groove of the side block. By sizing, thickness in the press direction of the annular groove forming part 23' and the sliding groove forming part 27a' is compressed by a prescribed dimension and the dimension is made uniform, and also, a smooth surface is obtained. In the end, the side block is finished by grinding.
