PURPOSE:To uniformize the heat crown distribution in a roll barrel direction by starting the cooling of a roll face from near a roll bit at the roll center part and cooling the roll face by delaying the cooling start point at both end parts. CONSTITUTION:A cooling water is injected from the jet nozzle of a coolant header toward the rolling roll surface of a hot rolling mill and a crown is controlled by cooling the roll. The coolant header is composed of the fixed header 2 fitted to a supporting part 5 and the rotating headers 3, 4 rotatably fitted at the specified angle to both side end parts and jets the cooling water fed from a piping 6 by providing a nozzle 1 respectively. In that case, the cooling of the roll face is started from near a roll bit by the header 2 for the center part of a rolling and at both end parts of the rolling roll the roll face is cooled by delaying the cooling start point more than the center part by headers 3, 4. The heat crown is thus reduced and the crown shape control range of a roll bending, etc., is virtually enlarged. |
