CONTINUOUS PREPARATION OF LAMINATED SHEET FOR ELECTRICAL USE

PURPOSE:To shorten the time required in impregnation to a large extent, to select the parameters of both of a resin solution and a base material from a wide range and to prevent the involution of air at the time of lamination and consolidation, by a method wherein each of the base materials is subjected to vacuum degassing treatment before impregnation and the treated base material is subsequently impregnated with the curable resin solution individually under reduced pressure while the impregnated base materials are laminated and united under vacuum. CONSTITUTION:Base materials 1 pass through a preparatory vacuum box 3 to enter a vacuum chamber 6. The vacuum chamber 6 is sealed by inlet side seal rolls 2 and squeeze rolls 7 also used as outlet side seal rolls and connected to a high vacuum source not shown in a drawing to be evacuated to 200Torr or less. The base materials 1 entering the vacuum chamber 6 are individually separated and respectively fall toward coaters 5 and again rise after a resin solution is supplied to be laminated and united. The base materials 1 are subjected to vacuum degassing treatment before reaching the coaters 5 and, therefore, the penetration of the resin solution is facilitated. Each of the coaters 5 is set so as to supply the resin solution to the single surface of each base material 1 and the resin solution supplied goes toward the opposite surface of the base material 1 to penetrate thereinto while air is excluded.
