PURPOSE:To minimize rapid temperature change and irradiating total heat quantity difference before and after an erasing area and to attain the stable recording and erasing by irradiating while a beam is flickered before and after the erasing area. CONSTITUTION:When an erasing command 38 is turned on and a reference signal rises, a suitable resistance is selected by a selecting circuit 36, a modulating signal 40 is supplied to a driving circuit 39 and in accordance with the signal, a light source 2 is flickered. At first, it is changed gradually to a high duty ratio by a low duty ratio (low frequency). The changing-over is executed by changing over the resistance by the time control of a selecting circuit 36. By flickering the beam before and after the erasing area, the heat stress at the boundary of the erasing area is eliminated and the separation of a recording film, a crack, etc., are not generated. |
