PURPOSE:To easily dry and deodorize garbage before it is conveyed to an incineration installation, by heating and drying the garbage by combustion exhaust gas in a drying chamber and by burning and deodorizing exhaust gas to which bad odor of garbage is transferred. CONSTITUTION:A garbage 4 is thrown into the drying chamber 2 of a garbage disposer 1 from a casting opening 5. When combustion exhaust gas 8 from a bath boiler 7 is led into the drying chamber 2 through a waste gas feed pipe 9, the waste gas flows upwards through the gaps in the garbage 4, heating and drying it. When the calorific value of waste gas 8 to dry garbage is not enough, the waste gas 8 is heated up by an auxiliary burner 12. The waste gas 8 which drys the garbage 4 in the drying chamber 2 becomes an odoriferous gas 8' since bad odor of the garbage is transferred to it when it passes through the garbage, so that it cannot be discharged to the atmosphere without deodorizing treatment. The odoriferous gas 8' is led into a combustion chamber 3 through a connecting pipe 13 and it is burned by the flames of a burner 15 in order to be deodorized.
