发明名称 CLAD MATERIAL FOR SPECTACLES FRAME MADE BY USING PRECIPITATION HARDENABLE METAL
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a clad material for a spectacles frame which is light in weight and has high hardness and strength by constituting said material of a sheath layer consisting of a precipitation hardenable metal and a core material consisting of a light metal having the sp. gr. lighter than the sp. gr. of said metal. CONSTITUTION:The precipitation hardenable metal is used as the sheath layer of the clad material for the spectacles frame consisting of the core material and the sheath layer and the light metal having the sp. gr. lighter than the sp. gr. of said sheath layer is used for the core material. Aluminum or the alloy thereof, magnesium or the alloy thereof, titanium or alloy thereof, etc., are used for said light metal. A precipitation hardenable copper beryllium alloy is adequate as said precipitation hardenable metal. The clad material is obtd. by coating the sheath layer around the circular cylindrical core material and the sheath layer around the circular cylindrical core material and cladding the same by an explosive welding method, etc. The sectional area of said sheath layer occupies preferably 2-40% of the enter sectional area. At least part of the sheath layer is further subjected to a soln. heat treatment then to an aging treatment, by which the satisfactory hardness is obtd.
