PURPOSE:To make it easier to confirm the existence of a substance and to make it possible to detect it with high accuracy, by comparing images at monitoring positions where an injection molding product should be located before and after a projection process based on a timing instruction signal from an injection molding machine and treating electrically an image signal. CONSTITUTION:A video camera photographs a working condition surrounding a mold 2 of an injection molding machine 1. A detecting means 8 receives from the injection molding machine 1 a timing instruction signal S1 indicating a proceeding of a working process included in an injection mold cycle and takes in a video signal part corresponding to monitor region A1 and A2 having specified sizes in a photograph information represented by a video signal VD sent from the video camera 7. It outputs a signal of detected result S6 having a level corresponding to an integrated value of the video signal VD. A comparing and deciding means 28 compares a level of the signal of detected result S6 output from the detecting means 8 with a standard value set at each monitor region A1 and A2, decides whether the work of the injection molding machine in the working process should be normal and outputs a deciding signal S20 indicating a decision.
