PURPOSE:To correct an external disturbance by detecting an external disturbance of shocking or vibration in driving a disk and facing a read/write head correctly toward a data track on the magnetic medium. CONSTITUTION:An accelerometer 7 detects an acceleration, sending out an output signal to a line 27 in response to the acceleration. An energizing drive motor 11 is a voice coil motor of current coil type to make such an acceleration as given in conformity to an input of a given current, thus enabling a compensa tion signal given by the accelerometer 7 to couple directly with a control circuit of the energizing drive motor 11 with no additional processing of the signal. A disk drive chassis 31 is supported on a main frame 35 by shock absorbers 33 which attenuates and damps an external shock given to the main frame 35, so the chassis 31 acts as a supporting body for a movable head supporting carriage 39 and a motor 47 for driving the rotating shaft rotation (above which there is rotating shaft 45 with >=1 magnetic disk 43 to be driven to rotate whilst supporting).
