PURPOSE:To provide superior workability as well as antibacterial action to the titled alloy to be obtained, by blending specific amounts of Co, Fe, and Ni as alloy components. CONSTITUTION:An antibacterial alloy is prepared so that it has a composition which contains Fe and Ni by the amounts, by weight, satisfying (3.0Fe+Ni)<=30% and (Fe+Ni)<=58% and has the balance >=42% Co with inevitable impurities. Further, it is desirable to add <=5% and/or <=5% Cu to the above alloy, and further, it is preferable to add <=3% Si and/or <=2% Mn to the above. By this composition, a new alloy excellent in workability as well as in antibacterial characteristic can be obtained. Accordingly, this alloy is suitable for use in as oral cavity mountins such as dental fittings for dental corrective bands, water purifiers, etc. |
