PURPOSE:To easily verify the bursting characteristic with high precision by providing an insulator tube in a dark chamber and directing a camera to this tube and enclosing a smoke ball in the insulator tube by the operation from the external. CONSTITUTION:An insulator tube 1 is provided in the dark chamber and a camera 13 is directed to the insulator tube 1, and an ignitable smoke ball 6 is enclosed in the insulator tube 1 by the operation from the external, and a pressure head 9 which senses the internal pressure of the insulator tube 1 is attached to the insulator tube 1. The smoke ball 1 is ignited to fill up the insulator tube 1 with smoke,and air is pressure-sent to raise the internal pressure of the insulator tube 1, and the pressure change in the insulator tube 1 is sensed by the head 9, and an electric signal is issued from the head 9 to allow a strobe to emit light when the pressure reaches a prescribe value. The bursting test is easily performed because the emission state of smoke for bursting is photographed by the camera 13, and an approximate state of gas emission is made by properties of smoke from the smoke ball 6. This state is automatically photographed in time to accurately perform the test.
