PURPOSE:To prevent the scratching and staining of the rear side of the support of an org. material having an org. polymer-contg. layer by immersing the org. material in a soln. capable of etching the org. polymer-contg. layer and by applying ultrasonic vibration to etch the layer. CONSTITUTION:An org. material having an org. polymer-contg. layer to be etched on the support is immersed in a soln. capable of etching the org. polymer- contg. layer and ultrasonic vibration is applied to etch the layer. For example, a material contg. gelatin as a binder and having a silver image formed on the support by a DTR process (silver complex salt diffusion transfer process) is immersed in an etch bleaching soln. and ultrasonic vibration is applied. After the lapse of several sec - several min, the material to be etch-bleached is taken out of the soln. Etch bleaching is completed without touching the etch bleaching soln. and a clear etch-bleached image can be obtd. Thus, processing not accompanied by scratching or staining can be carried out. |
