PURPOSE:To easily and securely form a coil with equal pitch by cutting an equal-pitch spiral groove in the outer periphery of a cover and winding a conductor in the groove, and thus forming the coil. CONSTITUTION:The spiral groove 21 is cut at the equal pitch in the outer periphery 15 of the cylindrical cover formed of a nonmagnetic material fitted to a piston rod 2, and the conductor 16 is fitted therein to form the coil. Then the cover outer periphery 15 is coated with resin for coil protection including the conductor 16. Consequently, the pitch accuracy is improved because the groove 21 is formed by machining, so the homogeneous coil is obtained and coil characteristics are stabilized. Further, the conductor 16 is only wound along the groove, and therefore wound speedily with ease.
