PURPOSE:To facilitate easy and efficient mass production of nearly spherical metallic particles adjusted to a required grain size by striking small metallic sheets at a specific projecting speed against high-hardness bodies and controlling the number of repetition of the striking according to the projecting speed. CONSTITUTION:Metallic chips formed to a bowl shape are charged into the bottom of a box body 2 and are lifted by baskets 16a of a conveyor 16. The chips are guided by a dust classifier 19, a hopper 18, and a flow rate controller 20 to an impeller section 4 of a projector 1. The chips are then projected to collide against the reflection plates 12A, 12B of a collision device 12 at 20-100m/sec projecting speed from a projection port 8 by the rotating centrifugal force of an impeller plate 5. The chips are dropped by an apron plate 14 onto a storage plate 15 and is again conveyed by the conveyor 16. The bowl- shaped metallic particles are gradually shaped to the spherical shape by successively repeating such operation. The rotational driving of the projector 1 and the operation of the conveyor 16 are controlled by a controller C. The number of projections is controlled by the projecting speed.
