PURPOSE:To facilitate the separation of peaks and the removal of noise of components, by determining a power spectrum by Fourier transformation from a chromatogram obtained from the repeated circulation of a sample through a column. CONSTITUTION:In this Fourier transform liquid chromatography, a piping is so arranged to form a consecutive closed system of a pump 1, a sampler 2, a column 3 and a detector 4 and a multi-component sample is introduced from the sampler 2 to be circulated through the system. With such an arrangement, individual components appear as repeated peaks in respective elution time, which provides a chromatogram 4 as combination of the peaks to be obtained wit the detector 4. The chromatogram undergoes an A/D conversion with an A/D converter 5 and Fourier transform with a Fourier transform section 6 to determine power spectrums of components, which enables qualitative and quantitative analysis from the power spectrum. This facilitates the separation of peaks of components and the removal of noise thereby achieving a higher accuracy of qualitative and quantitative analysis.
